What is Experiential Dynamic Therapy?

Experiential Dynamic therapy is an umbrella term for a therapeutic approach that comes from Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), created by Habib Davanloo. ISTDP is a type of therapy designed to help people quickly access and process deep emotions that may be causing psychological problems. It focuses on uncovering unconscious feelings, especially those related to past trauma or unresolved conflicts, to promote healing and change. Sessions aim to achieve significant therapeutic progress in a shorter time than traditional therapies.

Though I use various approaches in therapy and consider myself an integrative practitioner, my work is strongly influenced and informed by ISTDP techniques and principles.

Below are some resources you can use to learn more about this approach.
